- Spatial
- Graph
- Retail Data Model
- Communication Data Model
- Airlines Data Model
- Utilities data model
If you had any of these products running on your contracts, it is time to remove them so that you are not spending unnecessary dollars on these tools. Here is what Oracle announced in their recent blog post:
“At no additional cost, customers can now take full advantage of the enterprise-class performance, reliability, and security of Oracle Database for particular use cases, such as:
- processing and analyzing all types of spatial data in business applications, GIS and operational systems
- using graph analysis to discover relationships in social networks, detect fraud, and make informed recommendations
- building and deploying machine learning models for predictive analytics”
The biggest thing to recognize with this change is that Oracle probably won’t pick up the phone to let you know about it… they also won’t stop charging you just because of this announcement. So, it is time to be proactive and make these changes on your own. But don’t sweat too much, if you hadn’t licensed any of these tools, they are now complaint.
